Sweet little lady Ru Ru came to us three years ago after her humans passed away, leaving her with no one who wanted her. Since she had been a one-couple kitty, she was very scared at being displaced so suddenly and hissed and showed her teeth at just about anyone to protect herself. This in turn put her in danger of being put down! When we saw her for the first time, we knew she just needed a loving space to call her own.
In her time in my home, Ru Ru tended to get picked on by the other kitties and so she kept to herself. Even so, she was always so polite and even used the sink for a bathroom when her litter was full! She quickly became one of my favorite fur babies--and alarm--making sure to let me know when her water or food was empty. Though she tried several homes, her forever moms came out of the blue when they were visiting neighbors and decided to stop by.
When Mary and Emily met little Ru, she warmed up to them right away by rubbing her scent all over and purring like a dove. With her captivating green eyes and soft, sweet colors and face, they knew she would be the perfect fit! On December 5, 2016, after a long car ride, Ru Ru arrived to her new home in Colorado. Since, she has been adjusting slowly and appreciates having the run of the house (though she can usually be found snuggling in one of her "secret" hiding spots). She still doesn't quite like being picked up, but Ru Ru is gradually spending more and more time with her new humans, coming when called and even climbing on their laps if she is feeling extra loving. Every day she gets more comfortable, showing her warm and gentle personality. The dog is getting used to her, too ;). Her new family is so grateful she is a part of their lives and plan to repay her with a long and happy one of her own.
